Gartshore’s require experienced and skilled Cabinetmakers/Joiners and a new Leading Hand for their bespoke joinery factory in Tauriko, Tauranga for some major projects on the go! These roles involves manufacture and assembly of both simple and complex high-quality joinery and cabinetry – become part of an award winning team, carrying out a range of exciting and varied work for interior fit-out and bespoke joinery projects.

About you:

  • Trade Qualified Cabinet Maker / Joiners and/or relevant experience in fabrication, assemblies and finishes of furniture and wooden joinery and operation of hand tools and machines, power saws, jointers, mortisers, tenoners, molders, shapers, to cut, mold, or shape woodstock or wood substitutes.
  • Leading Hand would have personnel and project supervision skills.
  • CNC experience or stone fabrication is highly desirable too and we are also looking for CAD Detailers.

National Operations Manager – Tauranga

The role of National Operations Manager is a key leadership position encompassing the daily management of resources (plant and labour) to ensure the most optimal and efficient completion of projects for the Gartshore Group.

They are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual who will develop and implement systems and processes to improve performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability within their Project Management and Operations teams.

This role involves:

  • Planning, directing and coordinating resources in conjunction with your direct reports, (Project Managers, Factory Manager, on-site and factory based staff)
  • Ensuring all projects are completed on time and within the labour hours allocatedin a correct, cost effective and timely manner and in alignment with specifications and quality requirements
  • Part of the Senior Management Team and reporting direct to the Managing Director
  • Developing and retaining professional relationships with key clients
  • Overseeing the recruitment and training of new staff

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have experience running large scale and complex projects
  • Come from a construction or joinery manufacturing background
  • Ideally have experience managing Project Managers
  • Have excellent commercial business acumen and ability to drive strategic initiatives
  • Be highly computer literate
  • Have strong change management skills
  • Be experienced in process and systems development
  • Knowledge of the Construction Contracts Act, health  and other applicable legislation
  • Have excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Have a very high level of interpersonal communication skills
  • Have the energy, passion and leadership skills to influence, drive and motivate a team

Senior Quantity Surveyor – Tauranga

Full Time, Permanent

Gartshore Group is a market leading family owned company with an exceptional opportunity available for an experienced QS to join their team in Tauranga, (or work remotely from their Auckland office). Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role is working in the bespoke joinery, interior fit out and light construction industry.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor position involves planning and managing costs related to multiple projects, calculating budgets based on premium clients customised requirements, tendering, procurement and preparing detailed estimates to ensure budgets are sufficient for each stage of construction.

You will seek to minimise the costs of each project and enhance value for money, whilst still achieving the highest level of standards and second to none quality Gartshore are renowned for.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A relevant QS Qualification
  • 3-5 years or more New Zealand QS / Estimating experience
  • Experience monitoring and analysing costs in interior fit out industry, or similar
  • Tender management and costs proposal experience
  • Up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, including the CCA, New Zealand Building Code, the New Zealand Building Act 2004 and local by-laws
  • Experience contributing to day to day management and strategic direction
  • Knowledge of building methods and materials
  • High level of interpersonal client relationship building skills
  • The ability to read and interpret plans and estimate building, material, labour costs
  • Advanced level of mathematics, accounting and calculation skills
  • Exceptional planning and organisation skills

Shopfitters/Finishing Carpenters – Opportunities in Tauranga and Auckland

We are looking for experienced and skilled tradesmen with a background in interior fit-outs, shopfitting, finishing carpentry in the retail / commercial construction sector.

Asbestos Supervisor – BRS Auckland

Full Time, Permanent 

Building Remediation Services Limited provide a service around New Zealand for Asbestos, Meth and Mould removal in commercial, industrial, educational and residential buildings.

They are currently looking for an Asbestos Removal Supervisor to join their team. This role is focused on asbestos and mould removal from commercial and residential sites, working with decontamination teams. This is busy position and will require the candidate to roll up their sleeves and work with the teams regularly, however the key focus is supervision of projects are delivered and liaising with Regional Manager.

The right person with relevant experience will be put through the required NZ License’s if you don’t already hold these, so please do apply if you have experience in asbestos removal and/or construction related site supervisor positions.
